As well as acting for any individual party in a dispute, we can act as a Single Joint Expert Witness.
This is where the parties in dispute agree to have a single Expert review the problems and present his findings. In this arrangement the Experts fees are shared jointly between the parties.
It can often be directed by a Judge that the parties should get a Single Joint Expert report, to assist him in assessing the merits of
a case.
Civil Procedure Rules Part 35 govern this, and it says:-
"It is the duty of an expert to help the court on the matters within his expertise; this duty overrides any obligation to the person from whom the Expert has received instructions or by whom he is paid, and the obligation of impartiality is paramount"
I have been trained to act as a Single Joint expert under Civil Procedure Rules 1998
